Fabrication Manager

This position is responsible for overseeing all Fabrication related operations for BBAC. The job of Fabrication Manager is to monitor production output, supervise staff, and ensure that products meet customer specifications and quality expectations. In addition to Fabrication projects, you will assist BBAC's maintenance department for all equipment repairs that require welding and or Fabrication.

Duties, Skills, and Responsibilities:

Possess a current 4G structural welding certification or be able to pass certification within 30 days of hire

Must exhibit a high-level of professionalism, integrity, and be willing and able to maintain a positive and professional demeanor in representing BBAC, without exception

Oversees total fabrication effort to ensure projects are completed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives, A/E representatives, subcontractors, and shop staff

Direct and coordinate activities of project to ensure project progress is on schedule and within budget

Work with Division Managers and Account Executives to acquire fabrication projects for the shop

Develop and Manage Fabrication proposals for A/E's

Create Fabrication estimates of total costs related to each project

Be a 'Self-Starter'

Overall management of Fabrication Projects

Must be able to effectively communicate with Architects and Engineers

Knowledge of welding processes. MIG, TIG and STICK

Assists with implementation of safety programs and enforces all company safety policies and procedures

Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel

Actively Supports the Company's commitment to safety and its 'Core Values'

Coordinate repair of equipment with shop team

Assist shop managers with their needs, and able to provide back-up support as needed

Be a 'Team Player'

Must be able to read and understand basic blueprints and shop drawings

Have knowledge of current ADA rules and guidelines for handrails and staircases

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Requirements:

Minimum of two (2) plus years in management or supervisor roles

Minimum of five (5) years fabrication experience

Class A CDL or able to obtain within 60 days of hire

Ability to follow oral and written instructions

Must be able to Fabricate Handrails and Staircases from design to delivery

Thorough knowledge of all aspects of Fabrication, including technology, equipment, and methods

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors, managers and customers

Strong organizational and planning skills required

Ability to produce TOP quality work

Ability to work evenings, weekends, or irregular hours that will be required based on schedule

Must be 21 years of age or older

Must be able to provide legal right to work in the U.S. as BBAC participates in E-Verify

Must be able to pass a drug test

Possess a valid driver's license

Bilingual is a plus

Pre-employment drug screen and background

Physical Abilities:

Ability to lift 50 (+ -) pounds or be able to ask for assistance

Ability to twist, turn and bend continuously

Ability to push, pull and carry objects

Ability to carry small to large tools in and around jobsite

Ability to stand and kneel for long periods of time (about 90% of the time walking, standing, or kneeling)

Ability to perform small detailed tasks

Work environment:

Exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles such as dust, dirt, fumes, etc

Ability to work in an external environment and under many weather conditions such as frigid cold, and exposure to vibration and/or loud noise

Employer will provide appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed, but will be the responsibility of the employee to dress appropriately for the weather conditions
